In the spirit of commemorating Heroes’ Day, the Data Sorcerers community held Sorcery Talks #12 with the theme “New Heroes in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Driving National AI Acceleration.”
The event was conducted online via Zoom Meeting on Monday, November 10, 2025, from 20:00 to 21:30 WIB, and was attended by participants from universities, technology communities, and AI enthusiasts across Indonesia, in collaboration with Trash Ranger ID and Youth Ranger ID.
Speakers and Moderator
Sorcery Talks #12 featured four inspiring figures active in the field of technology and AI:
-
Aurelius Ivan Wijaya – Co-Founder of Artifisial
-
Dimas Dwi Pangestu – Founder of Trash Ranger ID & CEO of Youth Ranger ID
-
Fadli – President of PERMIKOMNAS RI
-
Marchel Shevchenko – Founder of Data Sorcerers (Moderator)
These speakers shared insights on how young people can act as “digital heroes” contributing to the development of Indonesia’s AI ecosystem through education, collaboration, and technological innovation.
AI and the Role of Youth in the Future Industry
A central point of discussion was the role of young generations as key drivers of AI-based industries in Indonesia.
Aurelius Ivan Wijaya emphasized the importance of continuous learning and adapting to rapid technological change.
“Young people have tremendous opportunities in this era. Use your time wisely to learn and keep up with changes, because we will be the key drivers of industry in the next five to ten years,” Ivan said.
The speakers agreed that national AI acceleration depends on digital literacy, talent development, and strong collaboration among communities, institutions, and the government—building a robust and sustainable foundation for innovation.
Fadli, President of PERMIKOMNAS RI, highlighted the importance of cross-sector collaboration to ensure AI technology truly benefits society, not only large industries.
Digital Heroism in the Modern Era
Beyond technology development, the session also highlighted the idea of digital heroism as a form of meaningful contribution by young people to the nation.
According to Ivan, heroism today is no longer limited to physical struggle, but also the willingness to empower others.
“Heroes today are not only those on the battlefield. They are people with good intentions, willing to share knowledge, and unafraid to contribute even if they feel they are not yet experts,” Ivan explained.
Dimas Dwi Pangestu added that impactful youth do not need high-ranking titles.
“To make an impact, young people don’t need to wait to become founders, CEOs, or major leaders. We can start in our own fields, as long as we have an open mindset and the courage to try new things,” said Dimas.
As the session concluded, Marchel Shevchenko, Founder of Data Sorcerers and moderator, shared that this edition of Sorcery Talks was a special, spontaneous event initiated to commemorate Heroes’ Day.
“This event was actually put together quite spontaneously, but the enthusiasm was incredible. With very limited resources, we were still able to deliver a meaningful and engaging discussion,” Marchel said with a laugh.
He added that this spontaneity reflects the spirit of digital heroism—moving fast, daring to try, and still making an impact despite limitations.
Inspiring Indonesia’s Digital Heroes
Sorcery Talks #12 aims to cultivate the spirit of digital heroism among Indonesia’s youth.
Young people are encouraged not only to be technology users but also creators of innovations that positively impact society.
With collaboration, courage, and a strong desire to learn, the younger generation is believed to be capable of leading Indonesia toward a sovereign and inclusive AI future.
